Last Thursday evening, the Maiocchi Paddington (Brisbane) store welcomed its VIP customers with open arms to the showcasing of its long awaited 2015 winter launch of the ‘Being Bookish Collection’. Braving the cold, guests were treated to a small runway showcasing of the new winter collection on our lovely customers, highlighting the warmer colours, beautiful custom prints and the 1950’s retro inspired silhouettes. The night was filled with all things Maiocchi- The pouring of drinks, homemade treats and cupcakes by Dee’s Mum Lyn, all topped off with fun raffles and giveaways to end the night.
The bubbles from the night was close to our heart, ‘Zing Prosecco’ specially designed label was designed by QLD based artist Elise Traynor - we love to celebrate local. With a desire for all things vintage and retro, Elise’s Zing label was able to reflect her style and Pizazz on to our VIP night perfectly and it was a definite conversation starter to kick off the night!
From soft stretch jerseys, to Japanese cottons and lace, the Being Bookish Collection sets out to highlight darling frocks for the ladies who live for ladylike quirkiness and love to follow their imagination. Prints throughout the collection vary from paper cranes, woodland owls, black cats and oriental blooms- all inspired by the idea of characters, straight from the pages of a book, coming to life.
One of the favourite frocks of the night was the Night Flight Dress- worn by Dee herself. With A stunning Japanese crane print, matched with its luxe cotton lace, the rich winter shades and the sheer lace sleeves was definitely a much-loved favourite in all of our eyes. Other dresses that were highlighted on the runway on the night were the Nine Lives Dress, and the All Good Things Tea Length Dress. The painterly floral print of the All Good Things Dress was custom designed for our winter collection, complimenting this classic fifties style with its opulent colours and textural feel. The Nine Lives dress showcases a beautiful embroidered lace sleeve, matched with the body in a thick ponti knit. This luxe frock has a retro slim silhouette matched with tucks in the front disguising the tummy.
Overall, the night was a filled with fun and excitement, and we thank every one of our lovely guests for coming to celebrate with us and our beautiful models for rocking the catwalk.
