The story of how her fave beach holiday spot inspired our founder/designer Dee to design our latest collection: Name Dropper:
Hello lovely mavens, it's Dee here and I’m excited to tell you about our latest collection: Name Dropper.
I‘ve wanted to do a simple hand painted print like this for ages.
But what colours?
As you know, I am a lover of all the colours (ok, maybe not brown, but never say never!)
I’m also a lover of the beach.
In particular, the beach at sunrise, as this is my favourite time of day.
I try to spend as much time as I can at my favourite little beach spot in Bilinga on the southern end of the Gold Coast.
I wake up before the sun and try to catch the first sighting of the sun peeping over the horizon.
I walk on the beach, taking photos and marvelling at all the glorious colours.
I have taken up a ridiculous amount of space on my phone with pictures of the beach at sunrise!
I just can’t get enough of the beautiful colours of the sky and the changing blues of the ocean throughout the day.
So, I decided that this hand painted print would be an ode to the colours of the stunning Australian beach landscape.

How will you choose which colour is your favourite?
I’m sorry, I can’t help you there, as I can’t decide myself.
But don’t blame me. At first, I was only going to do the sunrise colourway, which would have made your decision an easy one.
But I posted a sneak peek in our Mavens group, and then my mum said ‘oh you should do a blue colourway in that print as well’
So, you can blame her! (but it is gorgeous, isn’t it!)

This colourway features all the colours that appear with the first light of day, gently unfurling in a harmonious blend of reds, oranges, pinks, and lilacs.

There are only 3 styles in this print, but I think there is something for everyone and for every occasion:
The Emily Dress:
She can take you to work or to a fancy occasion, all in the comfort of beautiful buttery soft bamboo.
I’ve worn this dress in the red colourway, out to a fancy dinner recently with our Perfect Velvet Blazer in black and I looked and felt fabulous!
The blue colourway looks perfect with the Perfect Velvet Blazer in midnight.
Add one of our Perfect Ponte Blazers to really wow them at the water cooler for your work wardrobe.
The great thing about the bamboo fabric is that even as the weather warms up, you will stay cool in this fabric as it is thermo-regulating (keeps you cool in summer, warm in winter)
Oh, and did I mention that this dress is reversible?
Wear it with the boat neckline to work, then turn it around and wear it with the V neckline for after work drinks – clever huh!
The Crowd Pleaser Dress:
Sometimes a dress is so comfortable and so easy to throw on that you will just wear it time and time again.
We’ve had quite a few of our Mavens ask for us to bring back this style (we did it once before, years ago)
It’s the perfect style to throw on and go, and in this fabulous print, its so easy to look fabulous!!
I am writing this blog post from my little apartment by the beach in Bilinga and I bought this dress with me in the blue colourway and I can tell you, it has been the dress I have worn the most.
I’ve thrown it on over my togs, worn it out to the local Thai restaurant for dinner with a jacket over the top.
The Poppy Top:
I just had to include this top as it is our best-selling top.
As you guys know, I am a real dress girl, but I know you ladies love this top!
